Maureen McFadden is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Savannah, GA, who recently started her own business, McFadden Therapy and Consulting.  Current projects include creating a trauma informed and trauma responsive community and providing therapy to teenagers and adults.

Over the course of her 26-year career in Social Work, Maureen spent 18 years working in Child Protective Services in Washington, DC and Savannah, GA.  Maureen then worked as a director overseeing multiple mental health programs for uninsured and underinsured adults and children.

Some of the highlights of Maureen’s career were working as an Adjunct Professor for The Catholic University of America, where she taught graduate students Solution Focused Therapy and Narrative Therapy.  Maureen also enjoyed her work as the County Director in Chatham County for the Department of Family and Children Services.

What impacted Maureen the most and drew her to working with children and families, was her volunteer work as a Basketball Coach for girls who were in elementary school and junior high in Washington, DC.  Coaching for 7 years taught Maureen so much about the human spirit, how to see the strengths in every situation – no matter how bleak, and that she needed to be incredibly thankful for getting the most wonderful parents and doing nothing to deserve the honor.
